This modern alignment is built upon a foundation of civilisational linkages nurtured over centuries through trade, cultural exchanges, and human interactions.
The bond between the two regions was further strengthened as India stood in solidarity with African nations during their struggles against colonialism. Today, this historical camaraderie has evolved into a robust economic and strategic alliance, with African nations serving as key partners in India-led global initiatives. Highlighting the scale of this cooperation, Dr. Jaishankar noted that India has emerged as one of Africa’s largest trading partners and bilateral investors, marking a new era of economic synergy and mutual advancement on the global stage.
